Bore Condition: Shiny with sharp rifling and a few minor patches of surface oxidation in the muzzle.
Description:

Manufactured c. 1882. A boxed script "SWP/1881" cartouche is marked on the left wrist. The left rear of the barrel is marked with "V/P/eagle head" and "P" proofs, and an "R" on top of the barrel at the breech. The high arch breech block is marked "U.S./MODEL/1873" and the lock plate is marked with the federal eagle/shield motif and "U.S./SPRINGFIELD". Three-click tumbler and smooth trigger. Circled script "P" proof stamp behind the lower tang. Includes a period brown leather sling.

Rating Definition:

Exceptionally fine, retains 90% original blue finish and case colors, with some handling marks and patches of light freckling. Stock is very fine with distinct edges, some light scratches and dents, and a crisp cartouche. Mechanically excellent.
