Manufactured in 1905, with the scarce and desirable 7 1/2 inch barrel chambered in the always desirable .45 LC caliber. The top of the barrel is marked with the standard two-line address and patent dates, and the left side has the model and caliber marking. The side plate has the model marking around the Rampant Colt. The left side of the trigger guard has a Colt "V" proof and the number "5." A lanyard loop is mounted on the butt. The revolver wears a set of pearl grips with a relief carved eagle and shield motif on the right panel. The included factory letter states the revolver was sold to L.S. Lester (address unavailable) and shipped to Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett & Co. of Chicago, Illinois, on December 2, 1905 with a 7 1/2 inch barrel in .45 caliber, blue finish, and pearl stocks with American Eagle motif. Excellent, retaining 95% plus bright original high polish blue finish with some muzzle and edge wear and some thinning to brown on the grip straps. The grips are also excellent with a slight surface chip near the bottom (left panel), highly attractive fiery colors, and crisp carving. Mechanically excellent.
