Description:

Manufactured early during the German occupation of Belgium during World War II, when the Fabrique Nationale factory was taken over by the occupiers and continued operation to aid the war effort utilizing existing designs that were in production prior. This pistol was likely made in 1941, given the introduction of the "WaA103" proof in April and subsequent change to the "WaA140" proof by November of that year. Features fixed front and adjustable tangent rear (graduated from 50 to 500) sights, early occupation production polished blue finish, backstrap not slotted for a shoulder stock, and matching serial numbers on the frame, slide, and barrel. With the FN address and Browning patent markings on the left of the slide, "eagle/WaA103" and "eagle/swastika" proofs on the left of the slide, frame, and on the barrel, along with a circled "F.N." mark on the left of the trigger guard. Fitted with a pair of checkered walnut grips with red painted interiors and a phosphate finished magazine with "eagle/WaA103" proof and blued floorplate. Includes an extra blued magazine with "eagle/WaA103" proof and circled "C" marking, along with an "eagle/WaA/668" proofed black leather flap holster.

Rating Definition:

Excellent, retaining 90% plus original early German occupation production era polished blue finish with minor holster pattern edge wear, along with some grey/brown patina showing through on the grip straps, but otherwise mild handling marks and bright roll marks. The left grip is also excellent with crisp checkering, with the very fine right grip has a chip missing from the upper rear. Mechanically excellent. The holster is exceptionally fine with supple leather.
