Deployed relatively early in World War II, while on paper the High Turret Sniper was rendered obsolete by the easier to make Long Rail and Short Rail Snipers, the High Turret Sniper was a robust and effective sharpshooting platform that never fully left military service during World War II. Hooded blade front and tangent rear sights, with a set of turret mounts installed on the "eagle/135" and "Mod.98" marked Mauser receiver. The bolt has been fitted with a "key" pattern safety switch, with a "dkl" marked Dialytan 4x scope marked "2538/+" on the side, with a 100-800 graduated elevation adjustment knob, windage adjustable rear ring, and front ring renumbered to match the rifle. Fittings include a welded front barrel band, machined mid band, and stamped trigger guard and floorplate, which are numbered to match the receiver. The laminated stock is numbered to match inside the upper handguard and forearm channel (the latter also marked "Na 4243"), a faint "H" mark on the left side, brown leather sling and a cupped steel buttplate.

Very good as upgraded to current configuration, with 70% of the professionally restored blue finish, showing areas of brown and gray patina, mild spotting and light handing marks. Other than the safety, the bolt components and scope rings have been renumbered to match the rifle. The stock is very good, with scuffs and dents. Optics are crisp and clear. Mechanically excellent.
