Manufactured in Belgium on contract for Venezuela, with the Venezuelan crest on the receiver ring. An unmarked scope base is installed on the left side of the receiver, the ring assembly marked with Echo/B.C. Herkner markings, and the scope "A.B.L. -1951/No1455". The rifle also has the standard battle sights, a muzzle brake, and bayonet lug. It is mounted with a walnut pistol grip stock, brown leather sling, and steel buttplate. Per information from "The FN-49: The Last Elegant Old-World Military Rifle" by Johnson (page 107), the Venezuelan contract did not include any factory-original snipers nor are any believed to have been converted to sniper configuration by the Venezuelan military after delivery.

Very fine as upgraded to sniper configuration, with 75% black finish, showing edge wear, areas of thinning, and mild handling marks. The top cover is a mixed numbered replacement. The stock is fine, with a number of dents and scuffs. Optics are clear, with mild spotting and wear on the tube. Mechanically excellent.
