Description:

Manufactured between 1901 and 1915, with a total production of only several thousand of these truly unique pistols. Several features of this arm were integrated in Mossberg's Brownie pistol. Held with the barrel group emerging from the top of the hand, and the index and ring fingers on either side of the firing mechanism, which is squeezed with the middle finger to fire. The left side of the pistol has the three line address (Shattuck misspelled with a single T due to incorrect factory marking die) and the brass barrel group is numbered to gun. An ejection rod is stored in a compartment in the right side of the frame. Provenance: The Gateway Collection

Rating Definition:

Very fine. The pistol retains 80% original nickel finish with the balance a smooth dark patina showing edge wear on the barrel and grip and mild flaking overall. Mechanically fine.
