Description:

Developed during World War II, the 1919A6 was conceived as a way to bridge the gap between the mobility of the BAR in the squad automatic role and the belt fed firepower of Browning 1919 variants when fired from tripods and field mounts. This involved reducing the weight of the barrel, installing a muzzle booster/flash hider, and fitting a detachable buttstock. Notes from the consignor attribute this 1919A6 as a military original that was released from the military supply chain to a government contractor and was registered with the ATF in 1968 during the NFA amnesty to gain registered, tax stamped and fully transferable status. Flip-up blade front and ladder rear sights, with the 5-line address, model and serial number marks on the right sideplate next to "RBA" and the "DoD Eagle" cartouche. The flash hider, bipod and carry handle are all mounted on or around the perforated heat shield, and the buttstock is clamped to the pistol grip.

Rating Definition:

Excellent overall. The metal surfaces (including the bipod and buttstock) show 98% plus dark Teflon gray finish, with mild scuffing and rubbing exposing green undertones and light handling marks overall. The finish is attributed as a military-performed Teflon coating. The carry handle shows mild dings and dents. Mechanically excellent. NOTE: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) that is classified as a "Curios or Relic" as defined in 27 CFR, 478.11. These weapons are still subject to the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 478.
