Description:

The final wartime revision of the Thompson Submachine Gun, the M1A1 was on paper made obsolete by the M3/M3A1, but would continue to serve as late as the Vietnam War. Blade front and fixed peep rear sights, with a horizontal handguard, machined receiver with "CLG" and "FJA" stamps. The trigger housing is mixed numbered and "S" marked, with dual control switches, grooved pistol grip and fixed buttstock with steel buttplate. Bolt is M1A1 pattern, with a fixed firing pin on the bolt face and no provision for a Blish lock or oiler.

Rating Definition:

Fine, with 95% restored parkerized finish, showing areas of mostly shallow pitting under the finish, some faded markings, and scattered handling marks. The wood has been sanded, with minor scuffing and dings. Mechanically excellent. NOTE: This weapon is a restricted, National Firearms Act (NFA) Class 3, Fully Automatic Weapon, that is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE) under the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 479, National Firearms Act. This weapon is currently registered as being "LIMITED TO USE AS A SALES SAMPLE (Pre-86)" and as such can only be purchased by an FFL with a Class 2 or Class 3 SOT License, restriction under 18 U.S.C 922(o) Law Enforcement use for demonstration, sales samples purposes only.
