Description:

Developed in 1942, the U.S. M1 Thompson was a streamlined version of the classic Thompson SMG, intended to simplify the weapon and speed the manufacturing process. While frills were trimmed, the M1 was still a classic "heavy metal" SMG, constructed from machined steel with fine hardwood furniture. Blade front and fixed peep rear sights, with a straight forearm under the smooth barrel, ribbed pistol grip and a fixed buttstock. The receiver is "GHD", "crossed cannons" and "A.O.C." marked, with a mixed number ("245783") and standard control markings on the trigger housing and "MR" on the left side of the stock near the sling swivel. The bolt is the side-charging M1 design, sans oiler and Blish lock, with an articulated firing pin. Included with the lot is a modern soft case, extra springs, and ten extra stick magazines.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, with 95% plus arsenal refurbished parkerized finish, showing some edge wear and handling marks. The wood components are all very fine, with minor scratches and dings. Mechanically excellent. NOTE: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) that is classified as a "Curios or Relic" as defined in 27 CFR, 478.11. These weapons are still subject to the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 479.
