Description:

Manufactured by the Tokyo Arsenal from 1909 to 1928, the Baby Nambu was the semi-official officer's pistol of the Imperial Japanese Military; officers would privately purchase their sidearms, with the Baby Nambu presented as the local alternative to imports from firms like Colt, FN and Walther. Fixed sights, with the "stacked cannonball" arsenal marking on top of the chamber and the nomenclature markings and serial number on the right side of the frame. Fitted with checkered grips. Both of the included magazines are nickel finished with alloy bases, numbered to match the pistol, with one bearing the "." marking indicating the spare magazine. The firing pin, triggerguard and right grip panel are unnumbered, with other components (including the left grip panel) numbered to match. Included with the pistol is a brown leather clamshell pattern holster with untranslated hand-written markings inside the flap and a cleaning rod.

Rating Definition:

Excellent, with 90% plus of the arsenal refurbished blue finish, showing mild brown patina concentrated on the gripstraps and magazine well, along with minor handling marks and edge wear. A small patch of pitting is present on the right side of the frame, with a tiny chip in the wood in the same area, with the grips otherwise fine with mild dings on the sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The holster is good, with some cracking and seam separation.
