Manufactured in 1941, there are Winchester factory oval proofs on the barrel and receiver at the breech. The left of the barrel has the Winchester proof steel, model, trademark, and caliber markings. The upper tang is marked with the three-line Winchester trademark, and the serial number is marked on the bottom of the receiver. It is fitted with a hooded beaded blade front sight on the correct ramped base, a filler in the rear sight dovetail, and a peep sight mounted on the breech block. It is mounted with a smooth forearm and straight grip stock with a checkered steel buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Very good, retains 75% of the thinned original blue finish on the barrel, frame refinished on the right side, with the balance mostly a smooth grey patina showing slightly plum on the receiver. The wood is also very good with most of the finish worn off the forearm, scattered minor dings and dents, and a deeper long dent on the left of the stock. Mechanically excellent.
