Manufactured in 1900. The factory letter confirms configuration and state" S/N-42884, .44 cal, 7-1/2 inch barrel, blue finish, stocks not listed". This revolver was shipped on may 29, 1901 to Salem G. LeValley of Buffalo, New York and was the sole firearm in the shipment (one should research the aforementioned individual). Fixed front sight with notched rear sight. The barrel address reads in one line "COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. Co. / HARTFORD. CT. USA." along the top and "COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER" on the left. High-polish, commercial blue finish with the hammer, loading gate, and trigger a niter blue finish. The encircled Rampant Colt motif is located on the lower left rear corner of the frame just ahead of the grips. The serial number, "42884" is stamped in two lines on the bottom of the bird's head grip frame just ahead of the lanyard loop. The loading gate is stamped with the batch number "130". The rear face of the cylinder is numbered "884". Two piece checkered hard rubber grips with Rampant Colt on the top of either side.

Very fine. Approximately 75% original blue finish remains overall with thinning along high points as well as scattered surface scratches and dings. The frame has surface scratches and some minor high edge wear. The cylinder has light spotting and surface scratches. The grips are very good with a few pressure dents and a smooth patch on the right. Mechanically excellent.
