This is an excellent example of a WWI German Artillery Luger drum magazine with loading tool. These drum magazines were a main part of the basic issue equipment for every Artillery Luger. They were intended to provide a high capacity (32 rounds) magazine for the Lugers that were used in place of a rifle or carbine with machine gun and artillery units. This one is marked with the serial number on the front and back side, "B/N" on the top, and the numbers 12, 17, 22, 27 and 32 and the integral winding key on the bottom. The loading tool is marked "B/N", is otherwise unmarked, and may be modern production.

The magazine is in good condition, with 70% of the original blue finish, showing a mixed brown patina, some areas of heavy spotting, and a number of dings and dents. The reloader is excellent, with some light flaking.
