Description:

Walther Model 1936 Olympia Target Pistol. In the 1936 Berlin Games, German shooters used similar Walther target pistols to win five Olympic medals. This pistol features a 9-1/2 inch , semi-octagon, barrel chambered for the .22 Long Rifle cartridge. The bottom of the barrel is grooved and the frame is tapped and drilled for counter weights. The barrel is fitted with a front sight that is adjustable for elevation and the slide has a partridge- type rear sight that is adjustable for windage. The push-button magazine release is located on the left side of the receiver. A sliding thumb-safety is located directly below the magazine release. The magazine has a dull blue finish and is fitted with a wooden extension block. The pistol has two-piece, wrap-around, checkered, walnut grips. Two "Crown/N" proof marks are stamped on the barrel and chamber and a third is stamped on the top of the slide above the extractor. The serial number, "3024 O" is located on the left side of the receiver behind the grips. The slide is numbered "3024" behind the serrations and the wooden magazine block is numbered "024". The left side of the slide is marked with the Walther Banner at the muzzle followed by the Walther factory legend in two lines and the model designation: "Olympia-Pistole". The right side of the slide is marked: "CAL.22 long rifle". With key to the barrel weight screws.

Rating Definition:

Very good to excellent with 92-95% original blue finish, with smooth gray wear on the front strap, barrel, and along the high edges, and a few light handling marks. The grips are very good, with a few pressure dents and some minor chips. The action is excellent.
