This is the improved version of the Italian BM59 which was designed after the WWII Garand rifle. It used a twenty- round box magazine and has M1- Garand style military sights. It has the unique, integral front gas cylinder assembly that functions as a flashider, manufactured without bayonet lug. The receiver is marked "P. BERETTA / MADE IN ITALY" over the serial number, the left side of the receiver is marked "MOD. 62. 308 W BERBEN CORP. N.Y. N.Y.", and several of the small parts, including the bolt and bolt catch, are marked "PB BM59". It has a walnut stock and handguard with sling swivels and a vented rubber Beretta recoil pad. Magazine not included.

Very good, with 95% of the original parkerized finish, showing some wear along the edges and high spots. The stock is very good, with a darker upper forearm, some moderate pressure dents, and a few light scratches. A red, Beretta marked, rubber recoil pad has been added to the buttstock. Excellent action.
