This 14-1/4 inch brass mold casts six 54 caliber bullets with one filling. It is marked "SHARP'S RIFLE / MANUFG. CO. / HARTFORD CONN / U.S." on the left flat. There is some battering below this, obscuring any inspector's mark. The turned walnut handle and brass ferrules are proper replacements. Only a couple hundred were made.
