Colt New Service Revolver manufactured in 1911. The revolver barrel is marked with the two-line Hartford address and "1884", "1900" and "1905" patent dates. The left side of the barrel is marked with the model designation and caliber: "NEW SERVICE RUSSIAN/S&W SPECIAL 44". The left side of the frame has the Rampant Colt trademark located behind the cylinder latch and the Colt "VP/Triangle" proof mark and "3" assembler's mark stamped above the trigger guard bows. The full serial number is located on the inside of the frame and crane and the last two digits of the serial number are stamped on the underside of the barrel just in front of the frame. The grips are checkered black hard rubber with "COLT" on the upper flats. The entire revolver, including the ejector rod, lanyard loop and trigger are nickel plated.

Period replated/ refinished with traces of pitting visible under the plating on the barrel, frame and cylinder. The "factory quality" plated finish is about 99% intact with some very minor flaking on the cylinder. All markings are crisp. The grips are near mint. The bore is bright and the action functions perfectly. A very attractive Colt New Service Revolver in the desirable caliber .44 Russian/44 S&W Special.
