Description:

Produced between 1837 and 1840. The barrel has a cannon style muzzle, a turned ring between the round and octagon sections, and light engraving on the rear section of the barrel, which is marked "HALE & TULLER/ HARTFORD/ CONNECTICUT" and "U.S.". Brass gripstraps with a smooth one piece fancy tiger striped maple grip and pointed butt.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, with 70% of the bright original blue finish, intermixed with a brown patina. Small patches of etching are visible near the muzzle, from an unknown source. The brass shows a dark aged patina in the protected areas, bright on the held areas. A pair of extremely minor hairline cracks are visible on either side of the otherwise fine highly figured wood grip, along with moderate dings. Action is excellent.
