Fixed target sights on the heavy weight part octagon barrel stepped 7-1/2 inches from the muzzle and marked along the top by the makers own hand in script "Lewis & Amsden Makers "Saratoga Springs". The pistol is fitted with a typical boot type pistol grip which features a silver inlaid heart at the bottom of each grip and a tear drop brass inlay with simple decor on each of the sideplates. The barrel, sights and grip strap are brass, the trigger and underhammer bar are iron.

Very good. The barrel and other brass components are mostly an aged mellow patina which exhibit handling marks and dings as well as some minor isolated pin prick pitting at the nipple. The wood has been period repaired on both sides and shows handling marks and surface scratches scattered. The action is good. A unique and well built underhammer target pistol.
