Nearly identical to Gibbs Tiffany and N. Rider type with pointed butt. The top of the barrel is marked "A. THRESHER / STAFFORD, CON" (note the single "N"). Brass blade front and notch rear sights and fitted with smooth maple brass bound grip. Complete with wooden case with brass initial lid plate marked in script "E.H.B." and containing the following: 1) A brown flask. 2) An empty percussion tin. 3) A key. 4) A wooden ram rod. 5) A cleaning rod.

Rating Definition:

Good with the metal surfaces exhibiting a smooth dark patina and some light-moderate pinprick pitting on the underside of the barrel due to firing. The brass has been cleaned at one time and is now beginning to age again. The grip is very good with some light handling marks and a moderate gouge on the left side. The case is very good with some minor exterior handling marks. The accessories are very good with most of the tin label complete. From the Will Hoffeld collection, purchased from Parke Bernet in Los Angeles, Ca. in 1987.
