Description:

The top of the barrel is marked "THE MERIDAN FIREARMS CO." in front of the rear sight and "FOR 22 SHORT OR LONG" behind the sight. The frame is casehardened and unmarked. Occasionally the frames were marked "CADET". The forearm is 3/4 measuring 18 1/2 " with a single barrel band with a sling swivel and the stock is straight grip with a sling swivel and steel buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Refinished (in the period) with most of the blue/brown smooth finish on the barrel. The receiver case colors are fading to light bluish/grey mixed with brown. The buttplate has a smooth brownish mottled patina. The forearm is solid with minor handling marks and the buttstock shows some light scratches and dings as well as "Foster Evans / 1933" crudely, but lightly carved into the left side. Mechanically tight as new.
