Originating as a custom weapon made in the 1980s, this is a hunting style knife combined with a single shot 45 ACP pistol. The blade measures 5 1/2", and the pistol barrel is mounted on the spine. The barrel has a 1 1/2" extension, tapered to blend in with the false edge, and is marked "45 ACP" on the right side. "pkp" is marked on the right side of the frame, with "SAN JUAN ENTERPRISES/ PEYTON, CO 008" on the back. A traverse pin with spring loaded lever holds the barrel in place, with a spur hammer, spur trigger, and a middle finger grip safety. Black micarta grips. In box with the following documentation: the instruction manual, a copy of an ATF letter confirming an earlier model as being a pistol (not Any Other Weapon), and a brief history and technical listing of the pistol.
