Description:

The sword has a 26 inch and gold filled blade, ethched with "George M. Gross", "MEMENTO/ MORI" and cross in crown markings on one side and a group of crusade scenes over the Columbus, Ohio makers mark. Gold finished guard with king's heads on either side, smooth hard rubber grip with silver cross, and helm pommel. Nickel sheath with silver finished brass fittings, engraved to show a knight reclining in the desert sun, a display of arms, and a cross and crown surrounded by "BE THOU FAITHFUL UNTO DEATH & I WILL/ GIVE THEE A CROWN OF LIFE". With a well fitted protective cover and leather transport case marked "George M. Gross/ LaPorte, Ind." in ink on the back. Excellent, with some light handling marks. Stitching missing from the case.
