Engraving executed by B. Weems. The sides of the frame are scroll engraved with punch dot background and wildlife scenes: a fox on the left and a mountain lion on the right. The scrollwork is also featured on the trigger guard and 2 3/4 inch rear side barrel sections. Light scroll engraved barrel underside incorporating a script "Stu". Ramp front and adjustable notch rear sights, large serrated trigger extension, serrated grip straps and fitted with finely checkered grips with carved scrollwork. The included letter states that the revolver was originally blue and that the engraving and nickel were "after market". The revolver was shipped to E.K. Tryon Co., Philadelphia, PA, on 20 March 1959. Complete with fitted purple lined vinyl case.

Refinished with virtually all of the current nickel finish remaining with some light handling marks, a faint drag line and evidence on the cylinder front and rear of being fired. The engraving and markings are clear and crisp. The grips are like new with only the slightest handling marks. The case is excellent with only the slightest handling marks.

Standard markings, featuring an engraving executed by engraver George Springs, a Colt master engraver. Scroll engraved frame edges with animal heads: a ram on the left and a buck on the right. The scrollwork covers the cylinder with floral engraved flutes and 1 1/2 inch rear barrel sections. Engraver's signature is on the left side of the frame, above the trigger. Fitted with checkered two-piece grips with gold S&W medallions. The included factory letter states that the engraving was done "after market" and shipped with a satin finish on 24 May 1972 to Diamond Police Equipment Co., Manchester, CT. With S&W blue box renumbered to gun, papers and cleaning kit.

Custom embellished with some light scratches on the current stainless steel finish. The grips are like new with only the slightest handling marks. The box is excellent with some light edge wear.
