Background is red with white and black trim. Text is printed diagonally and reads "Railway/Express/Agency" in white and black lettering. 3) Like 2, but is 8" by 8" and porcelain. 4) Railway Express Agency tool used for affixing seals. Marked in raised lettering "Pat'd Dec. 7. 97" on one handle and "J Brooks & Co., N. Y." on other handle. 5) Railway Express Agency stamping tool. Inside surfaces marked in reverse "NPExCo" and "PortANo-/eles.Wash.". 6) Railway Agency Tool, used for opening boxcars or crates. "RY. EX. AGY" on center flat of hatchet head, blade of hatchet is 3 1/2" tapering to 1 1/2" rounding to 2" diameter circular center piece expanding to hammer head with claw nail puller, 12" metal tang with wood scales for handle.

1) Overall good with scratching of paint. The letter's "BY" have been scratched on to the surface. 2) Overall good with heavy weathering of sign. 3) Overall very good with scratching of painted surface. 4 & 5) Overall very good with most of black paint peeled off showing unfinished iron. 6) Overall good. Shows lots of use, nicks and broken claw.
