Description:

1) "AMERICAN EXPRESS CO. / MONEY ORDERS / SOLD HERE" doubled sided 17" x 13" porcelain sign with side bracket. Dated December, 1913. 2) Railway Express Agency 14" x 14" double sided fiberglass sign. "REA". 3) Like 2, but is porcelain, single sided and is 11" x 11". 4) Railway Express Agency 14" x 14" paper sign with metal side/corner protectors. 5) Double sided "AMERICAN EXPRESS CO / Money Orders / Foreign Drafts…" sign. Included are Railroad Express Agency related items, such as an identification card, wallet sized five year safe driver award, paper coasters from Air Express (a division of REA), Air Express wallet calendars (1945 and 1946), hatchet marked "RYEX", patches, assorted pins (including a 10 year safe driver pin), wax San Francisco seal stamp, and metal ties. Also included is a Porter Safety Seal Company seal bag press for the city Deming, New Mexico, a E.J. Brooks & Company seal bag press for the city Hailey, Idaho and an Apex seal bag press for the number "5163", all for REA.

Rating Definition:

1) Good. The blue has faded and most of the porcelain is missing from the bracket. There is some chipping with rust and some mild metal loss along the edges. 2) Fine. Some minor handling marks. 3) Very good. Some minor chips and spotting and some fine cracks. 4) Very good. Some minor wrinkles on one side, otherwise some minor scuff marks and scratches. 5) Fair. There is some chipping with rust mostly along the edges and a few large chips amongst the text. Most of the white and half of the blue is lost on one side and heavy spotting on the other side. Missing the side bracket. All REA related items are in good to better condition.
