Description:

The patent breech barrel is marked "G. SCHLERB / OSHKOSH, WIS." and features a blade front sight and an adjustable sporting rear with a tang mounted peep sight with two iron ramrod pipes soldered to the bottom of the barrel. The perch belly stock has a pewter nose cap, nickel barrel key escutcheons and side plate, and brass trigger guard, toe plate and crescent buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Good. The barrel is brown with light oxidation and moderate handling marks. The lock, patent breech and barrel tang are silver gray with the balance a mottled brown. The otherwise good stock has been reoiled and shows minor handling marks with minor cracks in front of the lock, lock screw and left escutcheon plate. The action is good.
