The barrel has a patent breech, a solid under rib with two pipes and is turned round at the muzzle for a bullet starter and is marked "N. WESLE MILWAUKEE" and features a post and globe front sight and an adjustable peep sight mounted to the tang. The front finial of the trigger guard is tapped for a palm rest. The lock has a running leaf engraved border and is marked "N. WESLE". The figured walnut stock is checkered at the wrist with an oval cheekpiece and has a pewter nose cap, nickel barrel key escutcheons and a steel Schuetzen trigger guard and plate with a steel Schuetzen buttplate. It also features nickel silver repair plates at both sides of the wrist and on the left lock panel.

Good. The barrel is a dark brown patina, the patent breech shows traces of case color and the lock and tang also show traces of case color which is mostly in the protected areas with the buttplate and trigger guard an even brown. The stock has been badly broken and repaired at the wrist and toe with a bad age check across the cheek piece that has been filled with epoxy. All repairs are sound. There is also a crack coming from the left barrel key escutcheon. The stock has been reoiled. The action is mechanically fine.
