Description:

The barrel has been turned round at the muzzle for a bullet starter, features an adjustable bar type peep sight and globe and post front sight with no provision for a ramrod and is marked on the top flat "M.S. SANDERSON" with an eagle tamped on either side and "RECUT BY D.H. HILLIARD, CORNISH, N.H." on the top right flat. The bottom flat is marked "MUZZY" followed by "C.N.H. 6 to 2. DIS 2 1/16". The stock has an oval cheekpiece with a brass trigger guard, side plates, rectangular cheekpiece inlay, toe plate, fancy cap box, and crescent buttplate. Includes a ball headed wood cleaning rod.

Rating Definition:

Very good. The barrel has a mottled plum brown appearance with moderate high edge wear. The fine stock retains approximately half of it's original finish with light to moderate handling marks and a heavy scuff just in front of the cheekpiece. Mechanically fine.
