Manufactured between 1926 and 1948 this shotgun features a single brass bead on a concave solid matte rib, 3 1/2" chambers, jeweled flat, ejectors and a tang mounted automatic safety. The casehardened action is engraved with a duck in flight in a marsh scene on the left and marked "ITHACA GUN Co.", a rooster pheasant in a field scene on the right marked "ITHACA N.Y." with light floral engraving on both sides and the bottom with the fences having a cross hatch and dot geometric design. The double triggers are gold washed. The trigger guard is blue and engraved with a floral pattern bordered with a simple zig-zag. Mounted with a nicely figured pistol grip stock, checkered with a scalloped border and Fleur de Lis designs, plastic grip cap, gold initial shield and a serrated buttplate. The checkered splinter forearm features an engraved release lever and an ebony insert on the forend. Length of pull 13" drop at comb 1 1/2" drop at heel 2 3/8". The shotgun is complete with a brown leather Brauer Bros. mutton case with a shoulder strap.

Excellent. The barrels retain approximately 70% of the original thinning blue finish with some areas of smooth gray patina and scattered light scratches overall. The action holds approximately 65% of the original vivid case colors with the bottom aged to a smooth gray towards the forward areas. The engraving is crisp and clear on all parts. The triggers retain about 80% of the original gold wash with some fading on the ends while the trigger guard retains most of its blue with wear on the edges. The wood is excellent and looks to have been freshened at some time with sharp checkering and few scattered minor dings and light handling marks overall. The case is excellent with a few minor scuffs and scratches. A rare 10 ga Magnum NID with a 500,xxx series serial number.
