This fine R. Haemmerli combination rifle/shotgun features fine scroll and bouquet engraving on the box lock action. The break lever and upper tang are engraved with floral scroll and geometric patterns and the sides of the fasteners are marked "Herkules". The top of the barrel is marked "RUDOLF HAEMMERLI & CIE. LENZBURG". The upper barrel is chambered for the 8. 9x53 mm cartridge and the lower barrel is 16 gauge with 2 3/4" chamber and extractors. The barrel features a blade front sight mounted on a raised ramp and a fixed rear sight with one standing and a single folding leaf mounted on a matte quarter rib and a sling swivel on the bottom of the barrels. It is also equipped with Zeiss Zielvier scope mounted on the quarter rib with quick release claw mounts. Quadruple grip action with duo top fastening device, double triggers, manual tang safety, horn trigger guard and mounted with nicely figured checkered walnut three-piece forearm and round knob pistol grip stock with cheekpiece, sling swivel, cartridge compartment with a finely engraved floral scroll trap lid and hardware and a serrated horn buttplate. Recently (2001) nitro re-proofed. Length of pull approximately 13 7/8".

Excellent. The rifle/shotgun retains approximately 95% finish with the lower barrel thinning to a plum/blue, there is some minor thinning on the receiver and some high edge wear. There is some very light spotting on the lower barrel. The wood is very fine with overall scattered minor pressure dents and a few minor dings and scratches. The checkering remains crisp. The scope is very good with a few minor scratches and high edge wear. The optics are crystal clear. The markings and engraving and clear and crisp. The mechanics are excellent.
