This is the Grand African version of the high quality and unique rifle manufactured for Colt by J.P. Sauer & Son of Germany. The rifle features a non-rotating bolt that makes the Colt Sauer action smoother functioning than most. The included Colt factory letter confirms the serial number, caliber, barrel length, one line Colt barrel address marking, hooded ramp front sight, adjustable open rear sight, receiver drilled and tapped for scope mounts, tang safety, cocking indicator, adjustable trigger, detachable magazine, checkered pistol grip Monte Carlo stock with rosewood tip and grip cap with Rampant Colt and Colt Sauer vented recoil pad. The letter also states that the rifle was kept by the Colt factory as a sample and display piece. Consecutively numbered to Grand African rifle below. These rifles were discontinued in 1985.

Excellent, showing about 98% of the original blue finish with some minor spotting mostly on the receiver and some minor scratches. There is some mild varnish flaking near the rosewood tip and grip cap, otherwise the stock is excellent with some scattered minor dings and scratches. The checkering is sharp.
