This is the Grand African version of the high quality and unique rifle manufactured for Colt by J.P. Sauer & Son of Germany. The rifle features a non-rotating bolt that makes the Colt Sauer action smoother functioning than most. Standard markings, hooded ramp front sight, adjustable notch sight, a receiver drilled and tapped for scope mounts and adjustable trigger. Mounted on a pistol grip stock with checkered grip area and forearm, rosewood forend tip and grip cap with Rampant Colt inlay, raised comb, sling swivel studs and a vented Colt Sauer recoil pad. Consecutively numbered to Grand African rifle above. These rifles were discontinued in 1985. Excellent, showing about 99% plus of the original blue finish with some minor scratches and some minor spotting (stronger on the receiver). There is a series of minor scratches on the forearm near the magazine and minor varnish flaking near the rosewood grip cap and forend tip, otherwise the stock is fine with some scattered minor dings and scratches. Most of the varnish remains. The checkering is sharp.
