Description:

Single bead sight on a concaved solid rib. Fine scroll engraved lock plates marked "JOHN DICKSON & SON". The scrollwork is also featured on the frame, hammers, rotary under-lever and buttplate heel. The serial number and the number "1" are marked on the lower tang with an additional number "1" on the buttplate heel and barrel rib. Rebounding hammers, carved serpentine fences and sleeved barrels. Blue with casehardened frame including lock plates. Mounted on a nicely figured checkered walnut straight grip stock and fully checkered forearm. Length of pull approximately 14 3/8".

Rating Definition:

Very fine, showing about 98% of the period applied blue English finish remaining on the barrels with gray patina forming at the muzzles. The frame and lock plates retain traces of faint case colors mixed with a smooth bright gray patina. The forearm has some mild dings in the overall sharp checkering. The buttstock has a few minor dings and scratches and a small dent near the toe. The buttplate is slightly oversized at the toe.
