Description:

Low blade front sight with bead on a matte rib marked "PATENT TREBLE / WEDGE FAST" and "MADE FOR (illegible) TORGERSEN & CO. CHRISTIANIA", the original name for Oslo Norway. The rear sight was removed now leaving a blank dovetail slot on the rig, which has been drilled and tapped for a set of claw scope base (missing the rear base). Casehardened fine scroll engraved frame marked "H. TORGERSEN & CO." with game scenes on each of the back action lock side plates. Scrollwork continues on trigger guard with dog on point, hammers, forearm hardware, and break lever. Serial number marked on the water table, forearm and barrels and "514" on the lower tang. Mounted on a checkered round knob pistol grip stock, horn forearm tip, raised cheekpiece, sling swivel, oval initial plate, and checkered bare butt with scroll engraved metal toe and heel plates. Length of pull approximately 14".

Rating Definition:

Very good, with 80% finish overall. The barrels retain approximately half of the original blue with the balance a smooth gray patina. There is some minor surface oxidation near the breech. The frame retains faint traces of the case colors. The freshened wood has some minor dings and scratches with heavier handling marks on the forearm. The cheekpiece has a sliver missing. The checkering is good. The markings and engraving are clear. A great rebuild project.
