Description:

This lot includes the following: A Winchester breech loading 10 gauge cannon with the "W.R.A. CO." trademark cast into both side panels of the iron carriage and standard Winchester markings on the 12 inch long barrel. Plain iron wheels. A muzzle loading unmarked brass cannon on a brass wheeled carriage and with a brass elevation screw. The 8 1/2 inch long barrel has a touch hole. A Strong Fire Arms breech loading brass cannon with a 11 inch long barrel, missing carriage. A howitzer-like miniature on a turning and pivoting 4" tall base. "Barrel" is 6 7/8 inches long and "RELIC / S.S. MAINE / FEB. 15. / 1896" is marked on the base.

Rating Definition:

The Winchester cannon retains about 45% ordinal flaking black finish mixed with a smooth dark brown patina. The two brass cannons have an aged patina and some minor dings and scratches. The cannon with the carriage is dented at the muzzle. The miniature has a smooth pleasant dark patina and the barrel is loose. Screw heads are stripped.
