Manufactured in 1877, and later passing through the London proof house and being sold via Cogswell & Harrison, noted London arms dealers who remain active to this day. Partridge blade front sight with polished gold bead (pinned to the original) sight and frame groove rear sight with "V" cut insert. The barrel is marked with the short 2-line Hartford address on top, acid etched "COLT NEW 41" panel on the left, 1874 patent date and "7790" on the underside and "COGSWELL & HARRISON/ 142 NEW BOND St LONDON" on the right. London "crown/ V" and "crown/ GP" proofs are present next to the cylinder pin on the barrel and between the chambers on the cylinder. Frame is marked "41 CAL C" on the left side. Niter blue hammer and trigger, birds head butt, Cogswell & Harrison address on the backstrap and smooth grips.

Very fine with noted period modified front/rear sight, showing approximately 80% of the original nickel finish. Some finish loss is visible on the cylinder and right side of the frame, with pitting, spotting and a gray patina in the affected areas, along with scattered edge wear and scratches. Niter blue is bright and strong on the hammer, trigger, and protected area of the cylinder pin, with the start of a gray patina on the high points. Grips are good with some dark rough areas of varnish, along with a few light scratches and dings. Mechanically fine.
