Description:

Manufactured in 1871, the first year of production, the Cloverleaf is named for its distinctive heavily fluted 4-round cylinder. Pinched blade front and frame notch rear sights, with top of the barrel marked "COLT'S HOUSE PISTOL / HARTFORD CT. U.S.A." flanked by Maltese crosses. Checkered hammer and trigger, with matching numbers on the butt and barrel, illegible markings scratched into the front strap and smooth birds head grips.

Rating Definition:

Fine, with approximately 60-70% of the original nickel finish. Flaking is visible on the edges and raised areas, with a gray steel patina on the barrel and cylinder and fine aged brass on the frame. There are a number of light scratches and dings are visible overall. Yellow residue is present on the side plate. Grips are good, with pressure dents and scratches. Mechanically fine.
