Description:

This pocket revolver was manufactured 1863-64 with a total production of about 10,000. This revolver is chambered for the 32 rimfire cartridge a features a 5 round cylinder with a unique design of individual chambers in the form of sliding tubes within cutouts on the cylinder. The chambers slide forward one at a time over a fixed rod on the right side to expose, load and eject. The top of the barrel is marked "B.A. CO. PATENT APRIL 14, 1863" and the serial number appears on the front of the frame. The barrel and cylinder were blue, the brass frame silver plated with standard decorative scroll engraving and it is fitted with irregular, almost bag shaped, two-piece smooth walnut grips.

Rating Definition:

Very good. The barrel and cylinder show scattered traces of original blue finish mixed with a smooth brown patina. The frame retains strong original dark aged silver plating in protected areas. The exposed brass has a dark aged patina. The grips are very fine with almost all of the original finish and a few overall scattered minor dings and handling marks. The action needs work, the cylinder does not rotate when the hammer is cocked, otherwise the other mechanics are fine. The barrel marking is legible.
