The top of the frame is marked "BLUNT & SYMS / NEW YORK" This marking is quite scarce. Six shot ribbed barrels with inline nipples. The frame is engraved with floral scroll on all sides and the back strap is lightly engraved. Ring trigger.

Good. The pistol has been cleaned bright some time ago and is now showing moderate plum brown areas on the barrel with the frame and back strap showing a smooth speckled finish. There are two holes in the top of the frame from a combination of a thin casting and corrosion. Mechanically needs work, needs a trigger return spring.

The six shot ribbed barrel cluster is marked on the ribs "CAST STEEL WARRANTED" and "SPRAGUE & MARSTON NEW .YORK". The bar hammer is marked "W.W.MARSTON" on top and "PATENTED 1849" on the left side and "NEW.YORK" on the right. The frame is engraved on both sides with floral scrolls and light engraving on the back strap and light engraving on the nipple shield. The grip screws have steel escutcheons.

Good. The gun is an even brown with high edge wear and minor pitting. The grips are good with light handling marks. The action is mechanically good.
