Six shot barrel cluster marked with Birmingham proofs in the flutes and "J.R. COOPERS PATENT" on the left side of the scroll engraved frame. Backstrap is also engraved. Smooth bag shaped grips with brass diamond inlays around the screw.

Fair. The barrel cluster and ring trigger have a mixed dark patina and some mild pitting. The frame retains a strong patch of blue on the left side of the frame, otherwise a mixed gray patina and extensive minor pitting. The revarnished grips are slightly ill-fitting at the frame and have some minor dings and scratches. There is some chipping around the brass inlay. The markings and engraving are weak.

Six shot barrel cluster with barrel rib marked "ALLEN & THURBER NORWICH C-T" followed by "PATENTED 1837 CAST STEEL" on the next rib. The left side of the bar hammer is marked "ALLEN'S PATENT" and the frame has the standard broad leaf hand engraving. Engraved detachable nipple shield and conventional trigger guard.

Fair. The barrel cluster, trigger and hammer have a smooth dark patina. The frame, nipple shield and trigger guard have a bright gray patina overall. There is worn minor pitting. The sanded and reoiled grips are slightly undersized and have some minor dings and scratches. A percussion nipple is broken. The nipple shield engraving is worn smooth. The frame engraving and markings are basically clear. Action needs adjustment, hammer does not return to ready position after action is cycled.
