Six round barrel cluster marked "ALLEN & THURBER" on one rib and "CAST STEEL" on another rib. Marked "ALLENS PATENT / 1837" on the left side of the hammer. Standard broad scroll engraved frame and detachable nipple shield. Matching serial number on frame, barrel cluster and underneath left grip. Single silver oval inlays on each grip.

Good. The barrel cluster and hammer have a mottled brown patina. The frame, nipple shield and trigger guard have a smooth brown patina mixed with a smooth plum patina on the left side of the frame. There is extensive minor pitting mostly on the nipple shield. There are some minor pressure dents on the bottoms, otherwise the grips are fine with some minor dings and scratches. Slight traces of the nipple shield engraving remaining. Frame engraving and markings are clear.

Fair. The barrel cluster has a smooth dark patina and some minor spotting. The frame, trigger guard and nipple shield have a mixed dark brown and gray patina with some moderate spotting. There is a chip near the trigger. The bottoms have a few chips and a few minor dents, otherwise the grips are fine with some minor dings and scratches. The nipple shield engraving is faint and frame engraving is clear. The markings are weak, but legible. Barrel does not rotate when action is cycled.
