The top barrel flat is marked "ALLEN AND WHEELOCK" with the serial number stamped on the bottom. Patent marks illegible. Floral scroll engraved frame and lightly engraved backstrap.

Good. Barrel and frame have been cleaned bright, showing light to moderate pitting overall, smooth brown patina around the trigger guard and handling marks on the barrel. Grips have been lightly sanded and finished. Mechanically fine.

Double fluted barrels, with a single trigger and two hammers. The flute of the barrels is marked "ALLEN & THURBER" with a silver cone front sight and the serial number stamped on the bottom of the barrels and the left side of the trigger.

Good. The barrels are gray turning plum brown with some spotting on the left barrel and moderate pitting at the nipples. Frame is mainly gray with scattered speckling. The left grip has a minor chip at the frame, otherwise showing half of the original finish and minor handling marks.

The top of the barrel is marked "W.W. MARSTON & KNOX", and "NEW.YORK 1864" top right. The rear sight is at the breech of the barrel and the front is a steel bead.

Good as cleaned, turning a light brown patina with spots of pitting on the right side of the barrel and around the nipple. Undersized grips with 35% original finish. Mechanically good.
