A) B & S Double Action Bar Hammer Percussion Pistol

Description:

The barrel is marked on the top right flat "B & S / NEW YORK / CAST STEEL". The frame features floral engraving on both sides and part way down the back strap. Identical to a Allen & Thurber last type bar hammer pistol.

Rating Definition:

Very good. The barrel retains about 20% of its original blue with some light pitting near the muzzle and light handling marks. The frame has about 20% of it's original blue with the balance gray with light spotting. The grips are fine with about 75% original finish with light handling marks. Action is fine.

Unmarked with ribbed double barrels with a wood ramrod under the barrels and two hammers. Light floral engraving on both sides of the frame.

Rating Definition:

Fair. The barrels have an overall brown patina with heavy pitting around the nipples. The frame is a mottled gray and brown. The grips show about 40% of their original finish with moderate handling marks. The action is mechanically good.

Good. The barrel and frame are silver gray with some plum brown spotting and moderate pitting around the nipple. The grips are refinished, the action is fine.
