A 19th century Indian flintlock musket with British East India Company lock from the Roy Rogers-Dale Evans Museum in Branson, Missouri. The musket is accompanied by a "Certificate OF Authenticity" that states the "Leigh 1805 India Rifle/Mother-of-Pearl Inlay - Old" was "personally owned and used by cowboy star, Roy Rogers". The musket has the traditional Indian stock that is covered with pearl and brass inlays. The barrel has rudimentary front and rear sights, relief decorations and a flared muzzle. The barrel is secured four narrow brass bands. The musket has an iron ramrod with elaborate flared tip. The musket is fitted with a British Brown Bess lock with East India Company markings and the date "1805" in front of the cock and the marker's name "LEIGH" engraved in a half-circle behind it.

Rating Definition:

About good. The barrel and lock are dirty and have a steel-gray patina. The stock shows heavy wear and several of the pearl inlays are missing. The lock markings are clear. An interesting 19th century Indian flintlock musket.
