Description:

The cane is 34 inches tall from the stag horn grip to the steel and brass tip. The lower 28" of the cane shaft is hollow, concealing what appears to be a four shot pepperbox with a 2 1/2 inch fluted barrel group milled from one solid 5/8 inch diameter piece. A turned extension of the same size continues into the handle. A 1 7/8 inch long "trigger" spans both pieces. The rear section is marked "BRIGG" on top. The 6 inch square dagger and the German silver band covering the front of the shaft and handle are both stamped "BRIGG LONDON". A single "crown/ V" proofmark appears on the right side of the barrel group, "crown/ GP" on the left. The depth of the bore is 2 1/8 inches and the operation of the mechanism is not obvious

Rating Definition:

Very good, with 80% of the original blue finish. Half of the stiletto, from the tip down, has been polished, along with some light wear on the high edges and minor spotting. The German silver bands show some minor dings and a few areas of dark patina, and the stag handle is excellent. A few cracks and one chip are visible around the mouth of the hollow shaft, some light fading of the finish, and wear appropriate to use on the tip. The action of the revolver has not been tested.
