Description:

This is a very good example of a nice straight, unaltered G43 rifle. The left side of the receiver is marked with the Waffenamt proof and Eagle/Swastika firing proof on either side of "G43" followed by the serial number and "ac44", the wartime code for the Walther plant, all highlighted in white. The serial number is also present on the left side of the bolt carrier under the hollow cocking lever, along with a Waffenamt proof. The action cover is the stamped version with the sliding dust cover. It has a 10 round detachable magazine marked "aye" followed by a Waffenamt proof and "K43". The front sight is fixed on a raised ramp with a hood, the rear military tangent sight is graduated to 1,200 meters. The pistol grip stock is numbered to the gun and fitted with a steel buttplate with buttstock compartment and a brown leather sling. The pistol grip area and buttstock are marked with an Waffenamt proof.

Rating Definition:

Very good. The barrel and barrel band have a nice wartime blued finish that has turned a smooth brown patina on the barrel with thinning blue on the receiver and bolt cover, with strong traces of original blue finish on the front sight. The trigger guard and magazine well show about 97% of the blue with some minor brown spotting. The buttstock has a minor age crack at the toe area, otherwise the stock is fine with some minor dings and scratches and a few minor gouges. The sling is very good with some minor age cracking.
