Description:

1933 pattern service dagger, with the inscription "gewidmet von/ der S.A. Kameraden/ der Schar Usseln." on the throat, which roughly translated is a dedication from the receiver's S.A. comrades in the German town of Usseln, site of a RAD work camp leading up to the War and currently a resort town. 8 3/4" blade, with "Alles fur Deutschland" etching on one side and Eickhorn makers mark on the reverse ricasso. Nickel pommel and guard, the latter marked "5" next to the blade, "He" on one side, and a smooth brown hardwood grip with Nazi eagle and SA rune inlays. Brown enamel painted sheath, with nickel fittings, aforementioned throat inscription and brown leather belt hanger.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, with some mild spotting and handling marks on the otherwise fine blade, a faint "31" in red pencil on the guard, mild pressure dents on the grip, flaking of the paint and some mild wear on the leather. Writer cannot recall any inscribed SA Daggers having been sold at our auction. These are very rare.
