Description:

This Norwegian Model 1914 semi-automatic pistol manufactured in 1945 by the Kongsberg Vaponfabrik in Kongsberg, Norway, and delivered to the Nazi occupation forces. This is a rare example of the last 935 pistols manufactured which were stamped with the German Army "Eagle and Swastika/WaA38" Army acceptance mark. The pistol has a charcoal-gray phosphate finish and is fitted with checkered walnut grips. The pistol has the distinctive Norwegian slide stop lever and is complete with four, gray phosphate, lanyard loop magazines. The left side of the slide is stamped with "Eagle/WaA38" acceptance stamp and test proof followed by: "11.25 m/m AUT. PISTOL M/1914 - No30308". A Norwegian "Crown/K" proofmark is stamped above the serial number on the slide. The right side of the slide is stamped with the date "1945". The full serial number "30308" is stamped on the left side of the frame ahead of the slide stop and the partial serial number, ".308" is stamped on the slide stop, trigger, slide safety, grip safety and mainspring housing. The pistol is accompanied by a black leather, full flap military holster and three compartment magazine pouch with three spare magazines. The holster has a full flap, sewn top, two sewn belt loops and marked with a small "crown / HV" next to the flap strap. There are no visible markings. The magazine pouch was originally russet and has been dyed black. The pouch has two sewn belt loops and no visible markings. All of the magazines have a dark gray phosphate finish.

Rating Definition:

Excellent. The pistol retains approximately 98-99% of the crisp original dark phosphate finish. The markings have been highlighted and are sharp. The grips are excellent and have minor handling wear. The holster and magazine pouch are in very fine to excellent condition. The leather is smooth and supple with no cracks or flaking, showing little wear. The seam stitching is tight. The pouch is black and the lower portion of the back is brown. Norway adopted the Colt Model 1911 in 1917. Norwegian Model 1914 pistols captured by the Germans during WWII and those pistols manufactured during the German occupation were issued primarily to the German garrison of Norway. This is a rare Waffen-stamped Model 1914 pistol in excellent condition, with exceptional accessories.
