Measuring 8" wide and 5" tall, brass construction with polished high surfaces and a deep brown patina applied to the textured lower surfaces. Raised text in the center reads "IN MEMORY OF/ COL. WM. F. CODY "BUFFALO BILL"/ FEB.26, 1846 - JAN.10, 1917/ THIS COLLECTION WAS/ PRESENTED TO THE MUSEUM BY/ MRS. JOSEPHINE G. THURSTON,/ NIECE OF COLONEL CODY.". Mrs. Thurston operated the Elephant Head Lodge, now on the National Register of Historic Places.
